About Shavington

Local area

Shavington is a large village about 2.5 miles south of Crewe and 3 miles west of Nantwich, two of the county’s most prominent market towns situated in the heart of the rural Cheshire Plain. While Nantwich is the more attractive and historic of the two towns, Crewe is the administrative centre for Cheshire East.

Shopping and Leisure

The village itself has a number of local shops, including a Post Office and Co-op supermarket, while Nantwich has an attractive range of shops, restaurants and cafes. Crewe has many familiar High Street names, as well as twice weekly indoor and outdoor markets, two large shopping centres and a variety of independent shops.

From country pubs to charming restaurants, there are plenty of options for eating out in the area. Shavington has its own small Leisure Centre complete with swimming pool, with other facilities available around the area. Several golf courses are nearby, the closest being the highly-rated Wychwood Park about 3 miles away. There are many walks in the area, including Wybunbury Moss National Nature Reserve a mile or so to the south.

Schools and Education

There are two schools located close to our new houses for sale in Shavington: Shavington Primary School in the heart of the village, and Shavington Academy on Rope Lane to the north-west. Both are highly-regarded, having Ofsted ‘Good’ ratings. Higher education is well-catered for in Crewe, with South Cheshire College and Manchester Metropolitan University Cheshire.

Transportation Links

Homes for sale in Crewe benefit from being located in a traditional railway town at the heart of the West Coast mainline, offering excellent connections to the entire network with London less than two hours away. The A500 bypass is also nearby, taking you directly to Junction 16 of the M6 motorway to put any parts of the region within an easy drive.
