The village is in the heart of rural Cheshire, just 5 miles from local landmark Jodrell Bank. Although next to open farmland, Manor Green is a short walk from the railway station on the Crewe to Manchester main line. The M6 motorway is a few minutes by car too. Holmes Chapel itself has a good selection of local shops, a small supermarket, primary and secondary schools and even a local leisure centre. The area also has excellent walks and cycle routes perfect for family outings!

Shopping and Leisure

On the A50, London Road, there is a variety of local shops, cafes and restaurants, not to mention, a library, post office and pharmacy. You’ll also find supermarkets such as Sainsbury’s local and Co-operative Food. Only 8 miles away, Crewe boasts many familiar High Street names, as well as twice weekly indoor and outdoor markets, two large shopping centres and a variety of independent shops. Holmes Chapel has its own leisure centre. A family-friendly sports complex with courts and sports halls. The area also has excellent walks and cycle routes perfect for family outings!

Schools and Education

There are a number of schools within the Holmes Chapel area: Holmes Chapel Primary School, Hermitage Primary School, Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School and sixth form college. Higher education is well-catered for in Crewe, with South Cheshire College and Manchester Metropolitan University Cheshire Campus.

Transportation Links

Manor Green is a short walk to Holmes Chapel railway station, on the West Coast mainline, between Crewe and Manchester. Both Crewe and Manchester offer excellent connections to the entire network including London less than 2 hours away. The M6 is a few minutes' drive, putting all parts of the region within easy reach, as well as, providing access further afield to the Midlands and the North.
